Terms of Service

Effective May 18, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the hosting services provided by Oakroot.host ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services

Oakroot.host provides web hosting, Minecraft game server hosting, and related infrastructure services. The specific resources, features, and limits of your plan are described on our pricing pages and in your order confirmation.

We may add, modify, or discontinue features over time. Where a change materially reduces the service you purchased, we will give reasonable advance notice.

2. Accounts & Eligibility

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering, and keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to purchase services.

3. Billing & Payment

Services are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly unless stated otherwise) through our client area. Your plan renews automatically until cancelled.

Prices are shown in US dollars and exclude any taxes that may apply. If a payment fails, we may suspend the affected service after reasonable notice. You can cancel at any time from the client area; cancellation stops future renewals.

4. Refunds

New web hosting plans include a 7-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied, contact us within 7 days of your first payment for a full refund of that plan.

Game server plans, add-ons, dedicated IP addresses, and renewal payments are non-refundable. Refunds are not available where these Terms have been breached.

5. Acceptable Use

You may not use our services to host or transmit unlawful, infringing, malicious, or abusive content. Prohibited activity includes (without limitation) malware distribution, phishing, spam, denial-of-service attacks, cryptocurrency mining on shared plans, and storage or distribution of child sexual abuse material.

You are responsible for the content and code you deploy and for ensuring it complies with all applicable laws. We may remove content or suspend services that violate this section.

6. Resource Usage

Shared hosting resources are provided on a fair-use basis. Accounts that consistently consume resources in a way that degrades service for other customers may be asked to upgrade to a VPS or dedicated plan.

"Unmetered" bandwidth means we do not bill per gigabyte; it does not mean unlimited capacity, and is subject to fair use.

7. Uptime & Service Levels

We target 99.9% network uptime, measured monthly and excluding scheduled maintenance and factors outside our reasonable control. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where practical.

Uptime credits, where offered, are the sole remedy for missed service levels and must be requested through a support ticket.

8. Backups

We perform routine backups as described for your plan as a convenience. You remain responsible for maintaining your own independent backups of any data you cannot afford to lose. We are not liable for lost data.

9. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate services for non-payment, violation of these Terms, or activity that threatens the security or stability of our network or other customers.

On termination, your data may be permanently deleted. We will, where reasonable and lawful, give you an opportunity to retrieve your data before deletion.

10. Limitation of Liability

Our services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the services is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected service in the three months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the client area or by email, and continued use of the services after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
